I have taught bassoon lessons and coached chamber music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and in my private studio. Four of my former high school bassoon students have won full-tuition scholarships to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Several former students have professional careers of their own. I have enjoyed teaching aspiring musicians as young as sixth grade and as mature as retirees.
I'm currently teaching bassoon and recorder students. There is nearly always room for new students in my private studio. Be prepared to work on a variety of musical goals. I strive for a balance of scales, etudes, solo pieces, band or orchestra music, and reed making. It's important to have fun, too, so student-teacher duets are a regular part of the routine. In recent years, I've been teaching and coaching more adult students than ever before. |
